    <description>i have rhel 5.4 openldap server&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;my client is hp-unix 11.23&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;when i poweroff the ldap server&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i am not able to login to hp-unix server wih local user also &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;but when my openldap server is up &amp;amp; but ldap service is down &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i donot face any problem &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Can any one guide how to solve above problem ??&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>adapt the /etc/nsswitch.conf file to refer local in case ldap is not avialable.</description>

      <description>Sorry for wrong information&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i am able to login but its taking 5-6 min time to give me a shell prompt&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;what i found that &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i login using local user ,at the same time &lt;BR /&gt;i did netstat -na | grep 389  from existing connection , i found connection remain in SYC_SENT state for sometime &amp;amp; repeat for 2-3 time ,as soon as socket get clean i get shell prompt&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Could this be the problem ??&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;if yes how do i control this time from ldapux&lt;BR /&gt;client deamon ??</description>
