Used the 2560, and it uses the same /dev/ file as the 'dumb' printer.
Thanks!

Suggestions for the printer model / interface for a serially connected LPQ1200 (C3205) on HPUX 11.00? Our 10.20 box is using tty0p4, which doesn't exist on the new box. Thanks.

Try either hp2560 or hp256x.cent for an LPQ1200 printer.

These two model scripts are located in /var/spool/lp/model directory. Use SAM to create and it will make a copy of the model script and place it in the /var/spool/lp/interface directory with the printer name you specify.

Hope that helps.

Ross Martin

You stated-
"Our 10.20 box is using tty0p4, which doesn't exist on the new box"

Does this mean you have no serial ports on your 11.00 system available?

On some HP9000 systems, you have to purchase a seperate MUX box if you need serial ports.

The other alternative is to get a jetdirect box that can be attached to your network and connect the printer to that.

-- Rod Hills
