rp3440; XP10K disks (OPEN-V) 2 25GB LUNS make up volume group with single lvol. AT DR site vgstatus was going back and forth with available/unavailable syslog dmesg had errors (PV Failed/PV recovered) No problems on XP, SAN switch etc. dd of physical disks records in matched records out no i/o errors. Since the data gets to the disks via CA, split the pair did a vgexport of vg02 and an import using the disk addresses (not map file). went to mount /var/opt/ignite (file system on vg02) fs is corrupted needs checking. fsck -F vxfs -o full, nolog /dev/vg02/rlvol1 has been running for over 2 hours without any response; pid is still active and no <DEFUNCT>. I'm thinking it isn't really doing anything... is there some way to tell? Has anyone had a long running fsck before? Thank you for your time.</DEFUNCT>

Hi Janet,
I once had similar issues:
Once it was th JBIC, then the HBA, and last time it was the fibre itself, this one was tricky it just happend that the end was 2 tenth of a mm too long.. and so would not clip properly...
And at each intervention or if someone moved some cables I would find myself with such messages...

Check again your cabling, after give a go of
fcmsutil to see what you can say about your HBAs

All the best
Victor

Hi Janet,

There is another command you could give a try:
/opt/fcms/bin/tddiag
Do a tddiag -? to see the options

Hope this helps

All the best
Victor
