HP-UX Installation problem from CD

Hi Guys,

I'm installing HP-UX from the CD and getting following error:

"ISL Booting INSTALL
Resetting Boot Device
Error returned from boot device
driver -
STATUS returned from driver = -3
Information returned from driver
00000000 00000000
00000000 00000000
Boot Device error : reading utility into Auto-execute file is inconsistent.
Auto boot aborted."

Please advise on how to rectify the above error..

Is the CD media corrupt ? Look for any scratches and clean them .. Also worth reading this thread,

Possible reasons could be
1. You got corrupted CD try using another installation set.
2. You got faulty CD drive, try replacing the drive

Thanks guys for the quick response, we have just received this new cd drive and the installation cd..

I'm now trying the other cd and will see how it goes....I will tell you the outcome..

It was a faulty cd drive and once I have replaced it, it all worked O.K
