Hi,

As you see the example of LVM kilobyte-stripe following

# lvcreate -i 24 -I 64 -L 1024 /dev/vgabc

The stripe size are available to assign like 4,8,16,32,64k up to 32MB.(default 16k)

Q1) I wonder what is the source or algorithm of determining the value of sequencial stripe size by hp-ux 11i?

Q2)
from the example, can I make LV 1024MB 64k striping per 24PVs?

when I tried to do that, couldn't make the size(1024MB)and got a warning mesage "1538MB" I needed for that. why?

Thanks for advance

- Kim
Choosing a stripe size of 64k over 24 volumes means at least 1 stripe has to be allocated on all 24 volumes.

64 * 24 = 1536
