      <description>Hello Guys, &lt;BR /&gt;I have tried to set on a partition of Superdome Itanium the cdrom as alternate path, but I have the following problem:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;HP-UX:/#setboot -a 0/0/11/1/0.2.0&lt;BR /&gt;setboot: error accessing boot path - Invalid argument&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;any ideas?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Giacomo</description>

      <description>insert a cd in the CDROM and see if you can read , maybe your current user does not have permissions to access the drive.. besides that . should be straightfoward&lt;BR /&gt;even ur path looks ok.. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Mount a cd and ensure you are able to access. Try issue setboot command, when the CD is mounted ..... this may work ... just a guess .... I dont have a machine available to test.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Sudeesh</description>

      <description>Giacome,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Why would you make the cd an alternate path.&lt;BR /&gt;You only boot from cd when you want a clean install or has trouble with the root disks.&lt;BR /&gt;If you have those troubles you put the cd in the superdoom and boot from it the normal way you boot from cd.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;grtz.       <description>You mentioned about partion..  what is it . an nPar ? Have a look at the following document: &lt;A href="http://docs.hp.com/en/B3920-90091/ch02s06.html" target="_blank"&gt;http://docs.hp.com/en/B3920-90091/ch02s06.html&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Which says "systems with hardware partitions support a boot action for each path. However, the boot action for the paths other than the primary path cannot be set using setboot.
