cannot mount created filesystem

Hello,

I have created a new fs using the following:

vgdisplay -v /dev/vg00 | egrep "^Free PE|PE Size"
lvcreate /dev/vg00
lvextend -L 400 /dev/vg00/lvol13
newfs -F vxfs /dev/vg00/rlvol13
mount -F vxfs /dev/vg00/lvol13 /appl/patrol

when I come to mount the new fs i get an error:

# mount -F vxfs /dev/vg00/lvol13 /appl/patrol
vxfs mount: /dev/vg00/lvol13 is already mounted, /appl/patrol is busy,
or allowable number of mount points exceeded

can someone help?

Hi,

Try to use the command below :

# mount /dev/vg00/lvol13 /app/patrol

Check also whether /dev/vg00/lvol13 & /app/patrol already been used by the system, check /etc/fstab & /etc/mnttab.

further invetigation showed that some rogue process' running in the fs - killed these and fs mounted. thanks

Hi,

As per your steps , after lvextend , don't give newfs , you will lose data....

do reconfirm , whether you had given nefs or extendfs.....
