    <description>Hi&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  I am trying to do a pvcreate in a disk which was earlier the part of VXVM.It gives teh following error&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;pvcreate -f /dev/rdsk/c17t0d3&lt;BR /&gt;pvcreate: Could not perform LVM operation on VxVM disk "/dev/rdsk/c17t0d3".&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards&lt;BR /&gt;S.Arunkumar</description>

      <description>if it's not part of or in use by vxvm now, have you tried...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;dd if=/stand/vmunix of=/dev/rdsk/c17t0d3&lt;BR /&gt;pvcreate /dev/rdsk/c17t0d3&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hope this helps,&lt;BR /&gt;-denver</description>

      <description>Please see this thread for the solution to your problem. You will either use mediainit to reinitialize the disk or if you have the base VxVM product installed and the disk will need to be "released".       <description>Sure this disk is not being used? Still under Veritas control.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You want the `vxdiskunsetup` command to remove the vxvm control from the disk</description>

      <description>please do not use dd, as this will leave the disk device in an inconsistent state in reference to lvm tables.</description>
