Hi Guys,
This may sound a little bit stupid, as this is the first time I install a mux card. The part no. is A6748A is a 8 port mux. I'm installing it in a Rp2405. I manage to install the software Termxx and when I run i'o scan it shows that the card is claimed with path 0/4/0/0. But, it did not reflect any device file. Is this normal ??? Btw, there isn't any physical hardware device connected to the mux port , Have I connect to connect any device b4 I can get the device file generated?? I also understand that the 8 port is actually RJ11 connectors, is there any serial cable that I can use to connect a notebook to this port?? Please advice??

REgards
Vincent

hi,

see the output of ioscan.what driver it is showing for this card.i think you have to add pci_mux0 driver
to your kernel.recompile it.

see my servers o/p

tty 6 1/0/1/0/0 pci_mux0 CLAIMED INTERFACE PCI Serial (113f0868)
/dev/cua6a1 /dev/tty6a5 /dev/tty6b8 /dev/tty6d10
/dev/cua6b1 /dev/tty6a6 /dev/tty6b9 /dev/tty6d11
/dev/cul6a1 /dev/tty6a7 /dev/tty6c1 /dev/tty6d12
/dev/cul6b1 /dev/tty6a8 /dev/tty6c10 /dev/tty6d13
/dev/diag/mux6 /dev/tty6a9 /dev/tty6c11 /dev/tty6d14
/dev/diag/mux6_1 /dev/tty6b1 /dev/tty6c12 /dev/tty6d15
/dev/diag/mux6_2 /dev/tty6b10 /dev/tty6c13 /dev/tty6d16
/dev/mux6 /dev/tty6b11 /dev/tty6c14 /dev/tty6d2
/dev/tty6a1 /dev/tty6b12 /dev/tty6c15 /dev/tty6d3
/dev/tty6a10 /dev/tty6b13 /dev/tty6c16 /dev/tty6d4
/dev/tty6a11 /dev/tty6b14 /dev/tty6c2 /dev/tty6d5
/dev/tty6a12 /dev/tty6b15 /dev/tty6c3 /dev/tty6d6
/dev/tty6a13 /dev/tty6b16 /dev/tty6c4 /dev/tty6d7
/dev/tty6a14 /dev/tty6b2 /dev/tty6c5 /dev/tty6d8
/dev/tty6a15 /dev/tty6b3 /dev/tty6c6 /dev/tty6d9
/dev/tty6a16 /dev/tty6b4 /dev/tty6c7 /dev/ttyd6a1
/dev/tty6a2 /dev/tty6b5 /dev/tty6c8 /dev/ttyd6b1
/dev/tty6a3 /dev/tty6b6 /dev/tty6c9
/dev/tty6a4 /dev/tty6b7 /dev/tty6d1

regds,
