Hi all,

I think it is not supported, since hpux needs root/boot/swap to be contigious so if you put the same in raid5 then i guess it will not be able to boot, that is why the hot relocation / hot spare facility for the root (boot) vxvm disk is disabled as well. Correct me if i am wrong.

Hi,

Raid 5 is not used for bootdisks, only for data disks.

Raid 1 is used for bootdisks. Just mirror.

You can mirror with 3 disks if you want.

rootdisk
mirror #1 of rootdisk
mirror #2 of rootdisk

If something happends you have two disks left...

You can also put them on two or three scsi busses. :-)
