Do I need to reinstall Oracle after upgrading the HP-UX?

Hi!
I am going to upgrade HP-UX ver 10.01 to HP-UX ver 10.20. Right now, Oracle 7.2.3 is running. Do I need to reinstall Oracle after upgrading the OS?

no, you dont need to reinstall but I think the correct procedure is to relink oracle as 10.20 has new libraries etc.

I dont think so, if I remember right we used a Oracle7server V7.2.3 for HP9.XX and 10.0X to install a 7.2.3 on a K series under 10.20

Make sure you have a good backup and upto date patches for 10.20 and oracle. You will have to relink the library files after installation.

Hi,
1) you should relink oracle after the upgrade,
2) you should upgrade oracle to 7.3.4.x to be Y2K compliant,
3) you should re-execute the "root.sh"

No need to reinstall oracle. but you need to relink the oracle with
make command.

You have to re run the script.

You don't have to reinstall the oracle.
When you upgrade the OS all the system libraries will change and hence all the oracle binaries and libraries must be relinked to the new libraries.
