Thanks Amit, I think we're getting closer. The developers requested the time to be changed on the server (ahead) and the date on the 50.lic file was in the future, but only in 2005, not in 2007.
In any case, I regenerated the 50.lic file with a current date, an still it is not working (after trying to enable it).
I tested the license (vxlictest), and it comes up that the license is valid for Online JFS options, but it doesn't work.

Sorry for the delay in response, I was out of the office for a bit.

Steve.

Hi all,

I have a HPUX server running v11.11 and it suddenly decided it didn't want to run fsadm anymore. When I try to resize a file system, it tells me I'm not licensed. (I was!)

Running 'vxenablef -a' didn't help, it still reports no license. It is also in inittab for boot time.

Running 'vxlicrep' shows me a DEMO license that is good till Jun 2007, same as other working 11.11 systems.

Any idea's?

Thanks in advance...

Steve.

Hi Steve,

fsadm command requires that a true lost+found dir exist. It creates an .fsadm file in there while it's working. If it doesn't exist run

/usr/sbin/mklost_found

in that filesystem mount point

HTH,
Jeff

Hi Steve,

Check /etc/vx/elm/50.lic file for its date stamp.

#cd /etc/vx/elm
#ll

If the date shown is greater than the license date(June 24, 2007) , then you need to do the following steps to resolve the issue :
1. Move /etc/vx/elm/50.lic to another filename.

2. Move /etc/vx/elm/80.lic (if present) to another filename.

3. Re-enter the 23-digit license key received from HP Licensing Services.

4. Check that OnLineJFS features were enabled:

/sbin/fs/vxfs3.3/vxenablef

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Amit
