topic Missing Device Files from LUN Creation in Operating System - HP-UX

I have a VA7400 attached through a Fibre Channel switch to an HP 9000/L2000 server. I have already built 15 LUNs including LUN 0. I just created two more LUNS or 50GB each. After LUN creation and the Secure Manager setup from within Command View SDM I ran /etc/ioscan and then insf. The insf command had not output. There were no new /dev/dsk device files created. I have tried deleting the LUNs and recreating them. The resulting /etc/ioscan and insf commands still do not create the device files for builing a volume group and logical volumes. Have you seen this before and if so what do you do to correct it?

Hi Stuart,

I recommend posting this question in the Servers - 9000 area of the ITRC forums. Here's a direct link to that site:
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/CategoryHome/1,,191,00.html

Please note that the same User ID and password you use on these forums work over there as well.

Thanks!
