Hi there,

I installed a system from an ignitetape. The disk in the new machine is 36 Gb (against the 18 Gb in the original system)

The installed vg00 has only 18 Gb in it. And I want to use the full 36 Gb. Does anyone know how???

Thanks in Advance
Donald

Can you confirm that a 'vgdisplay ' only shows 18GB of extents on the disk?

When an Ignite is performed, it must perform a 'vgcreate' on the vg00 Volume Group, which should set the max physical volume size as 36GB.

Have you tried this using the Guided Installation option of Ignite?

Share and Enjoy!
I understand from your question that your original system had a 18Gb disk and the new system has a 36GB disk(1 * 36Gb) in the new ignited system.
If that is the case then you need to modify the MAX_PE values which can be done during the recovery process using the ignite tape.

This is because when the VG is created the MAX_PE is set to the largest disk size in the VG by default.

Thanks
