Is there any way to find out the serial number of an N4000?

Hi Robert:

1) Check the "label" sticked by HP on the server
2) Check the server delivery document.
3) Check the HP support contract

Yes, I was aware of those options, however, we lost all documentation and there is no label.

echo "sel path system\ninfolog\nexit"|cstm|grep "System Serial Number"

This will give you the serial number.

cstm>info
cstm>wait
cstm>il

serial number should be displayed.

if ur having STM installed in yoru system ..run that utlity and select the system sub class and run information tool see the output u can find th eserial no of the system

Hi Robert

Use print_manifest if you have ignite installed.

Also HP has a small software called has sysinfo which can be run to generate the system information . I had a similar problem and when we got Sysinfo from HP I got the serial No. too . Incase you want I can send you the script .

Open up the right side of the rack. It is on the side of the server, not in the front.
