Is the following patch installed ?

Patch Name: PHSS_20014
Patch Description: s700_800 11.00 ld(1) and linker tools cumulative patch
Creation Date: 00/03/23Post Date: 00/05/23
Warning: 00/06/27 - This Critical Warning has been issued by HP.
- PHSS_20014 introduced changes to the dynamic loader,
dld.sl, that caused failures in various applications. As
of this date, it has been confirmed that PHSS_20014 causes
certain tasks in SAM to hang, and also causes the CDE
application dtprintinfo(1) to fail. Details on these
specific problems are included below. While these are the
only confirmed problems so far, other HP-supplied, ISV, or
customer applications may also fail with PHSS_20014 installed.

If not I'd suggest running swverify on the CDE filesets, checking your /etc/rc.log file.

Incidentally have any patch bundles been installed since the system was last rebooted ?
Hi All
I have 712/60, with 11.00 today morning i reboot that machine, suddenly the CDE login server failed. So i tryed to restart the CDE
server by doing this
/sbin/init.d/dtlogin.rc stop
/sbin/init.d/dtlogin.rc start
if i start dtlogin.rc it's generating the core file. If i type "file core" means it's giving the following error

# file core
"core:core file from 'dtprintinfo' - received SIGBUS"

Can anybody pls help in this regards.

Thanks in Advance
Prasath C

Hi,

Looks like this could be a patch issue. However try this link and see if it helps.

http://support1.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en_US&docId=200000062907145

Else, try and look for the CDE patches for your version of OS.

Some of the latest patchs i can suggest to look for are PHSS_26490, PHSS_26495, PHSS_26497, PHSS_26491 & PHSS_26262.

Hope this helps.

regds
