The C compiler is not a "free" item - it is charged for - if it is on one of your CDs you would need a codeword to unlock it anyway.

http://h21007.www2.hp.com/portal/site/dspp/menuitem.863c3e4cbcdc3f3515b49c108973a801?ciid=4b080f1bace021100f1bace02110275d6e10RCRD

Why do you need a C compiler? Do you have real C code to compile, or do you believe it is a pre-requisite for installing Oracle?

Well all you've told me is you have 4 x 11.23 CDs - I have no idea what those CD part numbers are, so really can't tell you which CD it is on! But each CD has a table of contents file which will tell you what is on it anyway, so why don't you look?

However as I said, even if you know which CD it is on, without a codeword, you won't be able to install it.

Do you know how to install HP-UX software??

You shouldn't be hunting around for executables to install... you need to use the swinstall command... assuming you have the CD mounted as /cdrom then:

swinstall -x codeword=xxxxxxxxxx -s /cdrom

Then find the ANSI-C software in the GUI and select it for installation.

Hi Dennis!

The fact is we have a lot of the CD's and a lot of licenses. The problem here is that i am finding it difficult to associate a lincense to a particular CD. Because of this the installation complains of using a wrong codeword for a wrong CD.

Thanks

kingsley.
