      <description>&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;11.31&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I added the path to the library to the $PATH variable, to no avail, still getting the same error:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;weblogic:/appl/staging #&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;gt; java -d64 -jar wls1035_upgrade_generic.jar -log=/appl/weblogic/wlsinstall_1035.log - Djava.io.tmpdir=/appl/staging&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;FONT color="#000000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;/usr/lib/hpux64/dld.so: Unable to find library 'libace.so'.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Killed&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;#&amp;nbsp;This is where the library is located:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-rwxr-xr-x&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; 1 edifecs&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; app&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; 9847752 Mar 26 16:00 /appl/edifecs/XEngine/bin/libace.so&lt;BR /&gt;-rwxr-xr-x&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; 1 edifecs&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; app&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; 9847752 Jun&amp;nbsp; 8 10:47 /appl/edifecs.preDROP6/XEngine/bin/libace.so&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&amp;gt;I added the path to the library to the $PATH variable,﻿&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;$PATH is only for looking up commands and sourcing files, not shlibs.&amp;nbsp; As Patrick said, you should be using LD_LIBRARY_PATH﻿.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&amp;gt;it depends on the "bitness" of the application:﻿&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Not really.&amp;nbsp; If you aren't using Aries on Integrity, LD_LIBRARY_PATH﻿ will work.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
