hpux porting and archive centers down

So, hpux.cs.utah.edu has been down for months now. And yesterday I believe that http://hpux.connect.org.uk decided to move their server, so it's unavailable, too. The German site seems to no longer exist, nor does the Canadian site. And the netherlands site returns an error when I search for stuff.

Oh well.

Are the tools usually available at the HP-UX Porting and Archive Center available anywhere else? I'd really rather not compile my own tools. (It's bad that HP can't provide a mirror these tools.

I was able to get through to the Netherlands (at least that is what ".nl" is)

A little further investigation shows that the "search" feature fails but you can display the catalog and select individuals packages from the catalog listing.

I'm going to be really bummed if all of these porting centers evaporate.

Is there any official encouragement from HP for these?

I did read your post.

I was able to download what I needed today. But with these porting and archive centers drying up over the last few years I'm starting to wonder if I should try to hook up wget and download the whole thing before someone else's ad-hoc server loan agreement dries up and the whole thing is gone.

As far as I know, the Utah site is the only one that has "dried up". The others have their good days and bad days, hopefully more good than bad.

Is there a comprehensive list somewhere?

A Google still has the Utah site coming up on top of the searchlist. Connect.org.uk is second and it is down too.

And Robert's initial message said the German site was down , Canadian site was down. I don't even know where those are.

Now I'm talking myself into worrying again.

Well, if you connect to the currently working Netherlands site on the top right you will see a "select-a-country" dropdown. I'd bookmark the United Kingdom and Netherlands mirrors since the US (@Utah) is down and out.

Here's the (semi)official reply:

The primary site remains the UK one and that is currently funded by HP.
Others are volunteer (albeit "official" non-funded) sites that may or may
not be available. It's possible that we may remove the US site from the
Country list soon - we'll talk with HP and see what they want to do about
that site.

We were moving our data centre that hosts the UK site on Thu/Fri/Sat,
hence we had some downtime for hpux.connect.org.uk, but it should be back
again now.

We're also hopefully going to resume porting new packages shortly - we've
been on a hiatus for a while as you may have noticed.
