It appears that you have a dead primary boot disk. It is also possible that the primary boot device has been set incorrectly. You might try interrupting the boot process and enter the firmware monitor and do a search for boot devices but my best guess is that your disk is bad. I don't suppose you mirrored your boot disk. If so then you could boot from an alternate.
Luis-

this is not a good thing. what it is doing is trying to boot and not finding the primary boot device, which is the drive where everything is stored. did anything happen to the drive before you powered off? did you shutdown properly first or just flip the switch. If there is a mirror, you can interupt the boot process and try to boot to the mirror (or another secondary device). otherwise, you might end up having to work off cd's.

Mark

Hi

try interrupting the boot process and issuing command SEA this will see if the disk is visable if not then almost certainly needs HP callout for new disk.

If you have mirrored disk then at this stage you can boot from the other disk.

John.

When you reboot the system stop at the PDC prompt and run "search ipl" to find out the drives have boot devices. If it finds the devices, try to boot by using the hardware path of the device. If it's mirrored boot with -lq option.

Hi Luis,

Looks like a faulty disk to me. If you have a mirror, try to boot using the mirror / alternate disk.

Hope this helps.

Regds

Hi,

100% this is a disk problem. You can check for any loose connections also.

If you have a mirror of the root, you can boot thro it or else you will have to reload the OS on the new disk.

Piyush
