Unable to install MirrorDisk UX on C3600

Hi Guys

I'm having problem installing MirrorDisk UX on my C3600, I've got the application CD B3920-14003, It's running the old version of HP-UX 10.20. From the CD-ROM CONTENT LIST i get

CPL Product: B2491BA
Codeword Req.: Yes
Size: 4165674
Description: MirrorDisk/UX

Brought the license for it, unlocked the software with the codeword, but when i try to install MirrorDisk UX it's not in the list.

Does B2491BA work for the workstation? As this is the only MirrorDisk UX on the application cds that i have.

I know there is B5403BA for the workstation on the HPUX 11i application cd

HP-UX 10.20 had separate software for Servers (800 series) and workstations (700 series).

Look at the software CD you have. If it says HP-UX 10.20 800 series, or something similar, then it will not work.

What version of HP-UX you running on the C3750? If 10.20 where did you get your MirrorDisk UX from?? All i can see from my application cds is B2491BA listed below

B2491BA B.10.20 MirrorDisk/UX

I can't see anything about 800 or 700 series, all i know is the part number of the cd which is B3920-14003

In looking at some of my old 10.20 application CDs, the from is labeled "HP-UX 10.20 Application Software September 2000" at the top. The middle right is labeled "HP 9000 Enterprise Servers". Around the Edge of the CD is "HP-UX 10.20 Server Applications 09/00"

The date will vary on yours depending on when it is from. However, the important part is the "Enterprise Servers" and "Server Applications". If yours says that it will not work in teh C3600.

Yours should say something "HP 9000 Workstations" in order to work.

hi,

The part number of the cd gives it away to me

B3920- xxxxx = 800 series/server
B3782- xxxxx = 700 series/workstation

so you need a B3782 part number cd and codeword to match

Excellent reference Andrew. I've got to bookmark that!

If you look through the list for B3920-14003, and click on the link, it will bring up a list of software on that CD set. At the very top of the list is this:

HP9000 Series 9000/800
HP-UX Application Software
CD Part Number - B3920-14003

So this is definitely for 800-series server and will NOT work on your C3600 workstation.
