Did you configure the RAID6 as a single logical drive? It's likely more than 2TB in size. This may cause the problem and is IMHO much too large anyway.

Hi all.
I have a rx2660 with P400 controller. When i create array ADG (RAID6) with 8 HDD SAS 300GB and install HP UX v3 on this array, system had fail:

* Loading configuration utility...
* Beginning installation from source: /dev/dsk/c3t0d0
=======  11/25/09 04:48:46 EST  Starting system configuration...
* Configure_Disks:  Begin
NOTE: The physical_extent_size for volume group: vg00 exceeded its maximum of 256MB. Will reduce max_physical_vols from 16 to
12.
* Will install B.11.31 onto this system.
class : disk, instance 1
The IO start offset is beyond the device block size. dev=0xd000001 IO blkno = 0xe8c3161d

class : disk, instance 1
The IO start offset is beyond the device block size. dev=0xbc000000 IO blkno = 0xe8c3161d

* Using LVM  for disk 0/3/0/0/0/0.0x0.0x4000000000000000 (disk1_p2), group: vg00
* Creating LVM physical volume "/dev/rdisk/disk1_p2" (0/3/0/0/0/0.0x0.0x4000000000000000).
pvcreate: "/dev/rdisk/disk1_p2": not a character device.
ERROR:   Command "/sbin/pvcreate -f -B /dev/rdisk/disk1_p2" failed.

The configuration process has incurred an error, would you like
to push a shell for debugging purposes? (y/[n]):

But when i try create array 1 with 2 HDD, the installation is ok.

Please talk me what happen?
Thank you very much.
