What are you trying to install? I wanted to use DRD to install a new version of HP-UX but found that I couldn't do that:

http://forums13.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1374662

Pete

Hello All,

Here i tried to install ignite Software...

I have referred all the docs of DRD
which is saying that we can install the any software or pathces in offline disk (cloned disk ). But as per my testing i am not able to do software or patch installation

The main use of DRD is we can reduce the downtime of doing any software or patch updates offline. while facing this kind of error how can i use the software....?

Is there any one tested in their environment?

Regards,
Veera

Hello Veera,

Thank you for your interest in DRD. I am sorry you are seeing this problem.

This problem is triggered by having B.11.31.A.3.4.91 installed on your booted system, and a previous release (probably B.11.31.A.3.3) on your inactive image.

If your clone is not very new, you may want to just re-run drd clone, which will copy the new DRD to the new clone and eliminate the problem

However, if you do not want to re-create the clone, you can do the following to work around the problem:

Mount the clone:
drd mount

Copy two files from the new drd release:
cp /var/opt/drd/mnts/sysimage_001/opt/drd/wrappers/common_utils /var/opt/drd/mnts/sysimage_001/opt/drd/wrappers/common_utils.orig

cp /opt/drd/wrappers/common_utils /var/opt/drd/mnts/sysimage_001/opt/drd/wrappers/common_utils

(If you are booted on the clone, replace â sysimage_001â with â sysimage_000â .)

The steps above will enable drd runcmd to succeed. However, the file change would cause a swverify error on the version of DRD in the clone. To repair this, install the new version of DRD to the inactive image:

drd runcmd swinstall â s <DEPOT> DynRootDisk
drd umount

Thanks,
Judy

</DEPOT>
