11i v3 OS releases

Is there such a thing as HP-UX 11.33 v3. A support matrix for one of our software vendors shows a requirement for HP-UX 11.33 v3. We are currently running HP-UX 11.31 v3 on an HP rx8640 itanium system but I cannot find anything about HP-UX 11.33 v3.

Hi Jim:

No, HP-UX 11.31 is known as 11iv3. There are various "update" levels the latest being "Update 5" released this month (September).

I suspect the reference was to "Update 3" of 11.31.

Is this in the ISVs formal documentation?

If so we should probably try and get it fixed or there will be more confusion...

Who is the ISV and what is the software in question? Is the documentation on a public website?

If you don't want to post details here you can send an email to my HP mail address and I can find out if we have a relationship with the ISV and get their docs corrected.

I'm sure you can figure out my HP email address from my forums name... I won't post it here as the spam bots will bite!

Recently I've seen some HP people posting here the following.

HP-UX 11iv3 Update

They have started to use Red Hat Like terminonology. September 2009 is update three or five now.

11.31 will not change, thats the number, the next major OS release will be 11.4x

The software vendor is Lawson Software and this paticular peice is called BSI TaxFactory which I believe is a separate company but the information is posted in the Lawson Software - Compatability Matrix for Lawson Software - S3. Thanks for all the responses. I didn't think there was an 11.33.

I've passed this on to one of our partner managers who will contact BSI and get this fixed.

I have to say, looking at the page myself, it looks like a simple typo rather than anything more meaningful.
