Hi,

I got two questions here:

1. Can the largest JFS filesystem go up to 3TB? even it's not been tested. My customer running video streaming application need this large file system to store the video clips.

2. Can a single filesystem exported by NFS and CIFS at the same time? and what's the size limitation? so far I can recall is 2GB for NFS, but I don't know what's the CIFS's limit.

Thanks,

I do not know about question 1. As to question 2, I would not recommend that unless you are exporting at least one of them as READ ONLY. If you had them both exported as Read Write, then you risk file corruption if a file is updated from both areas at the same time.

Hi,

According to the HP JFS 3.3 and HP OnLineJFS 3.3 VERITAS File System 3.3 System Administrator's Guide:

"VxFS can, theoretically, support files up to two terabytes in size because file system structures are no longer in fixed locations (see Disk Layout). The maximum size tested and supported on HP-UX 11.x systems is one terabyte. Large files are files larger than two gigabytes in size."

For more information, view the document:

HTML - http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/B3929-90011/B3929-90011.html

PDF - http://docs.hp.com/hpux/pdf/B3929-90011.pdf

--Bruce
