can i do raid 5 with lvm? do i need the mirror software add-on?

i have 3 new pv's that i've just added and pvcreated. i'm trying to setup a raid 5 array with them.

LVM does not directly support RAID 5 only RAID 0 or RAID 1. RAID 5 would need to be setup at the hardware level.
