Hi all,

we're using a tool from HP called Xvg to visualize the configuration of our LVM configuration. Now we changed to HP-UX 11.0 and the tool displays wrong structures. Is there an update for Xvg available? Or is there a tool which can replace it?

Rgds to all out there...

Thomas Schell

The current version of Xvg is located at:

ftp://contrib:9unsupp8@hprc.external.hp.com/sysadmin/xvg

The above is a browser URL, but you can also use ftp to reach this site. The IP address in 192.170.19.51 and the login is: contrib, password is 9unsupp8. This site has no anonymous ftp capability. You'll also find lots of other contributed tools in the upper directories.

The version at this site works on 9.x through 11.x with no problems. I have tested Xvg on virtually every server and workstation models HP has manufactired in the last 10 years. I recently rtan Xvg on an N-class machine with dozens of physical volumes, several were 250 Gbytes in size. You'll need an Xwindow device such as an HP-UX workstation, Xterminal or a PC running an X11 emulator such as WRQ's Reflection/X or Hummingbird Exceed.

An HP colleague in France placed the newest Xvg release also to
ftp://hpfrcu03.france.hp.com/pub/paulo.tar.gz
with the comment, to copy it down on demand. But here is the copy as well.

Thanks to all who contributed to the solution of the problem.
