topic PV mounted test in Operating System - HP-UX

How can I test if a PV is mounted somewhere in my enterprise without touching every server? I have an EMC Symmetrix with TimeFinder and would like to test a business continuance volume (BCV) to determine if it is mounted somewhere before I mirror it up with a standard (STD) volume. Is there something on the PV that indicates if it is in an active VG? How can I test for something like that?

Thanks.
Dave
I dont know of any supported or unsupported method for testing a pv device to see if its mounted somewhere or not. Been experimenting with dd for sometime now to see the differences between the headers on a PV which is mounted, unmounted, new, etc. There are differences, but as yet not enough to determine with 100% confidence that a pv is mounted or not. Maybe with detailed info on the header layout of a PV you could do it as I think the header on a PV should be updated/modified if its mounted or not.
