I have an EMC Symmetrix with TimeFinder and would like to test a business continuance volume (BCV) to determine if it is mounted somewhere before I mirror it up with a standard (STD) volume. Is there something on the PV that indicates if it is in an active VG? Been experimenting with dd for sometime now to see the differences between the headers on a PV which is mounted, unmounted, new, etc. There are differences, but as yet not enough to determine with 100% confidence that a pv is mounted or not.
