I’m preparing the migration of some HP-UX 11iv3 Service Guard (11.18) clusters for Oracle RAC to new Brocade SAN switches.

During the previous SAN migration the SG clusters (still running on older HP-UX and older SG version) had to go offline because the cluster lock disk was defined as a non-persistent device special file (/dev/dsk/cxtydz) and this definition changed when moving to a new SAN switch (because a new FCID was assigned to the connection).

But now the clusters run HP-UX 11.31 with persistent DSF (/dev/disk/diskn) with Service Guard A.11.18.00 and Oracle Rac Extensions and with Vertias VxVM 5. I don't see any refrence to a cluster lock disk anymore in the cluster config file (cmgetconf).

My question is whether we need to do any manual action (apart from an “ioscan”) on the HPUX and the HP-UX SG when replugging the HBA’s from the old SAN to the new SAN?

If so which one?

Only “ioscan” + scsimgr –f replace_leg_dsf –D /dev/rdsk/diskn?

Thanks in advance!

Francis
