If you click the top link you see no garbage.

So somehow the script is inserting the garbage, but I can not see how.

I finally got around to looking at your code. The problem is in line-42. You have an extraneous ">" character.

That said, I took the liberty of optimizing (somewhat) your script. My variation is attached here. Use it or discard it as you choose.
