Hi,

I am getting the following msg every time when i was logged in server. Can you provide me the solution to disable this.

Open Source Software has been installed on this system. See /opt/OpenSource/etc/copyright
You have mail.

This is being called from your /etc/profile
Please go through the /etc/profile and you should see somewhere in the end it would be calling this strings

Hi,

The problem seems to be in all id. Getting the same message. One week before I have got an issue that is i tried to activate sendmail service and i have made some changes in sendmail.cf,

I have stopped the sendmail service, still the msg is appears.

The problem is in /etc/profile. It has been modified without your knowledge. Start finding the problem by looking for the message:

grep Open /etc/profile

There should be a line with that string in /etc/profile. Removing that line will turn off the message. If you do not see anything in /etc/profile, then it is caused by some process that was added to /etc/profile. If you have not modified /etc/profile since installation, try comparing for the differences:

diff /etc/profile /use/newconfig/etc/profile

I would also look in /opt/OpenSource for documentation as to what was added (/opt/OpenSource is not part of HP-UX).

dude, are you not reading these posts. it has _nothing_ to do with mail. the 'you have mail' message is normal and is in NO WAY related to the 'open source' message.
