I have seen this before when the TR card does not have it's speed set.
try running the eisa_config and setting the card speed first, then check the MAC address.
Hi, I can't install an EISA Token Ring card in a HP Telepace (HP9000/S700 748i) because the card replies a blank station address (using lanscan). The OS is HP-UX 10.20. I installed the HP Software Package J2165A and the PHNE_8337 patch. The card is recognized by eisa_config, but the station address is always blank. The HP 748i is a Workstation with both VME and EISA slots. There are 4 EISA slots. I'm using slot 4.

Any ideas?

Francois Boucher

This was fixed by applying PHNE_21217.
Had a call just like it earlier this month :)

Berlene
