is UTF16 supported by HP-UX locals?

I wonder if UTF16 is supported by HP-UX. I can see from the output of "locale -a" that only UTF8 is supported.

You are seeing current configuration, not the range of possible options.

Other configurations can be used, installation from OS media may be required.

I think yes. There are several patches, mentioning the UTF16 support.

The locale command display only installed locales, so you need to check you installation souce for more locales.

-a
List all available locales. These are the possible meaningful values that can be assigned to LANG or any of the LC_* variables on the system. They are dependent upon which locales have been installed on the system.

Searching the patch database doesn't find UTF16.

It seems that 11.31 supports UTF-16, but not 11.23 or lower.
