11.31 on PA-RISC, is 32 and 64 bit available?

would you happen to know if HP-UX 11.31 is available in both 32 bit and 64 bit for PA-RISC? I was told that the Itaniums are all 64 bit. I have a request from my developers for these systems.

It's always 64bit, but able to run 32 bit apps.

No HP-UX kernel is 32-bit for anything newer than 11.11. (i.e. 11.22 and beyond is 64-bit _only_).

You should tell your developers not to care unless they're writing kernel mode drivers, as a 64-bit HP-UX operating environment can compile and run 32 and 64-bit *user* processes just fine. It shouldn't matter to them.

No, 32-bit is not available for HP-UX 11.31.

11.31 is supported ONLY on 64-bit systems. It doesn't matter if the system is PA-RISC or Itanium, they must be 64-bit.

see the footnotes regarding "YES" in the 11.31 column. Not all pa-risc systems are supported...those that are appear to be 64 bit only
