You have a problem with your Ultrium tape library:

autoch 2 1/0/10/0/0.8.0.255.7.11.0 schgr NO_HW DEVICE HP C7200
/dev/rac/c9t11d0

this is an old galactica.

Did you change anything (the FC card in the lib)? Is it powered on?

Check the lib first.

If you changed anything, please tell us.
Special procedures are needed (fcmsutil ... replace_dsk ... probably).

Hi Sanjeev ,
Thanx for your support. When i checked its status by using "fcmsutil" command i found its status online.

Waale-Kum-asalam Ahsan,

Firts-of-all thanx for your support.Yes ,i checked your suggested commands for FC Card over that server. As u asked that did u apply the latest patch? the answer is No i didn't apply any latest patch to HBA it is having Patch version of 2003.

Waale-Kum-asalam Asif,

It is really great to see your answer after the long time.Yes,this FC Card is online.
Thankyou for the link of EMS events.

Hello Torsten,

No ,i have not chnaged anything of library but due to power maintenance activity we just put the Library and servers into powered off state on 2 july 2008 and when we started it then it made the new device file for the 2 tape drive and from then this problem has been occuring.

I don't know but my mind is totally in the favour of your answer that may be this problem due to Tape Library and u are correct that it galactica 2/20 Tape library( very old one).Because i just rebooted that server yesterday(17-jul) and i have been monitoring for that error but no such error/log is found yet and i still monitoring its dmesg output and syslog.file output.

Torsten How can u say that it is because of tape library?? Plz justify I will be thankful to you.

The status of your library is NO_HW - not good.

It would be normal behaviour if you change the FC interface in the galactica. The nPort ID remains the same, but the WWN is different. The FC driver will not allow the card to login.

Any messages around "Unable to access previously accessed device at nport ID 0x1" in syslog?

Please post some more lines after this message!
