It was able to give me OS/ABI&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# readelf -a tar|more&lt;BR /&gt;ELF Header:&lt;BR /&gt;  Magic:   7f 45 4c 46 01 02 01 01 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00&lt;BR /&gt;  Class:                             ELF32&lt;BR /&gt;  Data:                              2's complement, big endian&lt;BR /&gt;  Version:                           1 (current)&lt;BR /&gt;  OS/ABI:                            UNIX - HP-UX&lt;BR /&gt;  ABI Version:                       1&lt;BR /&gt;  Type:                              EXEC (Executable file)&lt;BR /&gt;  Machine:                           Intel IA-64&lt;BR /&gt;  Version:                           0x1&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I am sure others will post the proper answer soon... &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>You can use footprints(1) to give you a summary.&lt;BR /&gt;Otherwise for PA32 you can use: odump -comp&lt;BR /&gt;For Integrity or PA64 you can use: elfdump -dc</description>
