Issues in wdb batch mode debug options

When trying to use the memory leaks debugging using the batch mode option in HP Itanium, I followed the steps as mentioned

$ cat rtcconfig
"rtcconfig" 7 lines, 86 characters
set heap-check on
set heap-check leaks on
set heap-check free on
set heap-check string on
files=memtest
output_dir=./

$ cc -g -o memtest memtest.c
$ export BATCH_RTC=on
$ LD_PRELOAD=/opt/langtools/lib/hpux32/librtc.sl ./memtest

Though there were memory leaks in the programme which I was able to identify using the Interactive gdb mode, batch mode did not show any output or create any file. No errors were also obtained. Can nay one suggest what could be the possible reason?
Are there any version level dependencies?
[The same did not work on B.11.11 HP PA machine also.]

This may be too old, get the latest wdb.
