Hi,

Is there any way to know the release date of the OS installed on my machine.
In other words
How can I differentiate between two OSes ( 11.23)
installed on different machines, one of them was released in march 2007 and other on march2008.
How can I tell which is which?

Which product/fileset do you think can be used reliably for this purpose?

No that I am going to use it in my code but I need to know this just to find out the release date of the OS I am working on.

The example I posted is the OS core - the name depends on the version you installed.

Consider to post an swlist output, so we can see what you have.

The second field is consistant across versions. Use B.11.23.0712 for Dec 2007 release.

But when I goto 11.31 this fails.

Update-UX seemed to be a good candidate but when I tried it on a few machine the test failed.

On some of the machines it had the date strinf appended but not on all.

I am not sure what release is it, but it can be sep 2007 release also because SwMgmtMin had 0709 appended to version.

Due to some network problems I am not able to access this machines will do it tomorrow and confirm using some other software versions.
