>can this same stand-by lan also be used in case of failure of the user lan?

Yes, there has to be the physical connectivity between the various network paths, i.e. a linkloop check should show connectivity between all three lans on each server, and across the network.
See the manual at:
http://docs.hp.com/en/ha#Serviceguard

>Is APA supported on a Campus cluster config?

Yes, as a Campus cluster is just a normal cluster extended over longer distances. You need the cards AND switches that are supported for APA, see the APA documentation at:

http://docs.hp.com/en/J4240-90039/J4240-90039.pdf
Hi,

I am busy to design a High Available solution for a HP-UX enviroment and facing the following questions:

1. About the role of the stand-by vlan:
I foresee a stand-by lan to eliminate the SPOF of the heartbeat lan but, can this same stand-by lan also be used in case of failure of the user lan?
If yes, any specific serviceguard config to implement in the SVG config files?

2. Is APA supported on a Campus cluster config?
If yes which Interface card to use?
Any reference to interesting doc to read about this subject?

Thanks in advance for your support.

Domenico
