I have a server rp4440 with HPUX 11iv1 and I need to know what package I must to install to get these software:

ar
ld
make
compiler C

Everything you have listed is part of the base HPUX 11.11 install.

Special considerations for C compiler. The bundled C compiler with HPUX is in some cases too limited to compile open source or some other applications requiring special compiler features. In this case purchase C/Ansi C or aquire and intall GCC.

Was this something you wanted or something Oracle told you that you had to patch?

I agree, what Oracle basically demands you to have is a valid C compiler and also a proper Java compiler. Would you be a little more specific?
