topic How to let "getty" reset modem after hangup ? in Operating System - HP-UX

I connect RX2660 to a multitech modem at the Auxilary serial port ( Not Console port) . My OS is HPUX 11.23 .. I config modem via SAM to recieving a call with CCITT protocal at baud rate 9600..

I look everythink OK. But If i finish a first session. ( By reflection software at my notebook side) Modem will not hook up at the second call. I must power off and on modem again. So modem will be able to hook up a new call.

Are there any way to let getty send ATZ to modem after session is finished..

Thank you

> Are there any way to let getty send ATZ to
> modem after session is finished..

I know nothing, but I doubt it.

I have seen modems (MultiTech MultiModem II,
for example) which can be configured to do a
reset (effectively like "atz") when Data
Terminal Ready falls ("at&d3") or when Data
Carrier Detect falls ("at&c7"). Thus,
appropriate modem control signals can obviate
sending an actual reset command. I don't
have the manual for all possible values of
"a multitech modem", but a little research
may reveal what you need to know.
