It all depends. Some modifications can be done while the packages are running and other than copying the files to the other nodes nothing needs to be done. Others require bringing down the entire cluster. Do a man cmapplyconf, cmhaltpkg, cmmodprk, cmrunpkg, cmhaltcl, cmruncl, cmhaltnode, cmrunnode for command syntax.

I can say if you have to ask a question as basic as this, you have no business working on a critical SG cluster yet.

The first thing you should do is go to:

http://docs.hp.com/en/ha.html

Start reading and learning. Service Guard is not a "learn it as you go" kind of application.

When you have a problem or a specific question, then post.

Rgrds,
Rita

It all depends on what kind of change you are making in the package config file.

If you are adding disk or creating new File systems , you will have to export the volumegroup to a map file and then import it on other modes.

The command to apply your new package script is

# cmapplyconf -P /etc/cmcluster/pkg_name/pkg.conf

Here is a document that will help you to get familiar with the SG cluster commands.

Rgds / James
