Patch installation error

hai admins

I am trying to install path PHSS_26803... This is for HP predective software.. The patch was suggested by HP support...

But when i do a swinstall i get the error

The patch fileset " PHSS_26803.PREDICTIVE-RUN,r=1.0" may only be installed upon a previously installed base fileset. The specification for this base fileset is Predictive.PREDICTIVE-RUN,fr=C.11.11.4,v=HP".. Since there is no fileset on the target or from the source which matches this specification, fileset PHSS_26803.PREDICTIVE-RUN.r=1.0" will be excluded.

we have predictive 3.0 on HP UX 11.0.... What should i load first before i can load this,,.

perform the following,...

swlist -l fileset |grep -i pred

Look for the level of predictive, check it against the PHSS_26803.text file of the patch to see if you have the right patch for the right version.

Not an answer but its interesting that HP support are recommending predictive software when the plan is to drop this for "HP Instant Support" See this link

Hi george,

You mentioned you are running Predictive on HP-UX 11.0, but the patch PHSS_26803 is for HP-UX 11.11.

This patch is for the HPUX v11.11 only.

all are right , this is a patch for hp-ux 11.11

you need to install this patch :
PHSS_24828 - s700_800 11.00 Predictive C.11.AD cumulative patch

i am sorry.. the OS is actually 11.11 only... still i am not able to install the patch...

any ideas?

Did you install predictive? It has to be installed before you can patch it.

swlist | grep Predictive shows
wcdbase2(root):/>swlist | grep Pre*
H2571A 3.0 HP Predictive Support
