cmclconfd takes more than 90% CPU at specific times

Hello there,

We have noticed that at specific times, between 02:08AM to 02:24 AM [GMT], cmclconfd daemon occupies almost 90% of one CPU (SYS_CPU_UTIL)

It is impacting the performance of our batch jobs that runs during that time.

We have checked on 3 different servers on the same cluster and it is the same on all.

Any thoughts on why this could happen?

Saj,

Try reduce the dbc_max_pct. What is your current value, have you set as def to 50. Then make it 20 or so.

We have huge SAP instance, and I have set to 10, it works fine now.

Perhaps a kmtune outpout would be helpful.

It may be kernel tuning time.

I still do not understand why cmclconfd should take almost 90% of system CPU on all cluster nodes, that too only between 02:08 to 02:24. This time varies everyday.

2. When cmcld is running with more than ten network
interface cards configured on a cluster node, its
CPU utilization percentage raises significantly.
This problem is mostly exposed with Superdome machines,
or systems with large VLAN configuration.
