    <description>Hi Shiv:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;A "lock disk" in a Serviceguard environment is an LVM disk that acts as an arbitrator for cluster formation.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;That is, a node that can obtain the lock disk has the right to (re)form a cluster.  Other nodes that find the lock disk already in use, TOC (Transfer-of-Control = reboot) thereby releasing their packages to be acquired under the control of the node owning the lock disk.       <description>And nowadays the (recommended) alternative to the lock disk is a quorum server. A little PC running the qs software works well and the qs software is free.</description>
