As a newbie you may want something that is more 'visual' as well. There is the ServiceGuard Manager package you may want to look at. A GUI based display of the clusters in your environment.

I agree with Rick about Service Guard Manger. It is a nice package and can run on HP-UX, Windows and a variety of Linux flavors.
