We are setting up a new cluster, and I know the backup LAN's have to be on the same subnet but do you have to have an IP assigned to them also ??

Hi Michael,

You don't have to assign an ip to the backup lan. It assumes the ip address of the primary lan in case of a lan failover / switch.

Hi,

two requirements to be standby LAN are:
1. LAN card must be unconfigured (it must not have an IP address)
2. The standby LAN card must be on the same physical network as primary LAN card.
