Hi Melvyn,

Thanks a lot. Is there any product like Continious Access is available for VA Arrays??. If not is there any way to manually replicate the data across VAs (LUNs in different VAs)? Also is there any cookbook or quick installation guide available for this kind of setup??

Thanks,
Karthik S S

Hi All,

Provided that I have the require software (MCSG and Continental Cluster) is it possible to evaluae a continental Cluster setup with in the local LAN with the following basic setup??

1. 2 Subnets
2. 4 Nodes (2 in each subnet)
3. 2 VA Arrays connected to all the nodes, LUN Security enabled and application Data from each pair of cluster node LUNs are mirrored using Mirror Disk UX

Need your advise on this. This is just for test purposes and can't afford to have XP or EMC arrays.

Thanks,
Karthik S S

as a test setup this should be fine, as we do something similar in the 3 day Hands On with Serviceguard course.
Bear in mind that for a live configuration you may not be able to use the mirror/ux bit, so that will not be testing the disk/data replication in the correct way.
At this stage, I do not believe there is a CA product for teh VA arrays, but have to temper that with a comment that I do not know these arrays.
I believe ther may be a future possibility of using the EVA arrays, but do not take that as a statement from HP.
The manuals are fairly easy to follow, and the module from that course I mentioned takes about an hour to create a CC with two existing SG clusters.
The biggest hurdle is getting your Data Replication method setup and verified.

See the manual at:
http://docs.hp.com/hpux/pdf/B7660-90013.pdf
