    <description>hello,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Where I could get a format package in HP-UX. I dont have a format command cause i need to fix one of the partition in my HP box. the fsck could not correct the partion. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;thanks</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;For formatting a disk, we use pvcreate command in HP-UX.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;And we have create logical volumes which can be formatted using command called newfs and makefs.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Read the man pages and please be careful while using this commands as they are destructive.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;-Sukant&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>hello Justo,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I want to fix the damage partition using format command, the fsck cant fix the said error. &lt;BR /&gt;The error said File System not properly shutdown beginning filesystem repair /dev/vg00/rvol1: 18 files, 0 icont, 1605 used, 220712 free (8 frags, 27588 blocks) cannot read 56872 unexpected inconsistency run fsck manual&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;When I run fsck manually still I get error in /dev/vg00/rvol1 cannot read 56872, I think only format can repair this error but sadly the my HP box dont have a format command, unless you guys have a good suggestion on how to repair the said error.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thank you once again and More power&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Respectfully&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Allan</description>

In this instance, the file system is /stand, and you may have to bite the bullet and re-install, or even have the root disk replaced if after testsing it shows hard errors.</description>
