Hi,
From your post:

"/usrhome1/adroot/.sw/sessions/swinstall.last".
ERROR: "INHYL1H3:/": 1 filesets have a version with a higher
revision number already installed

That means you already have some filesets related to service guard installed on your system. If you are sure about the Service guard package and its version then execute swinstall with setting the reinstall option to true. OR you can uninstall the existing MC SG package & continue with the installation.

Hope that helps.
Regards,
Hi,
I have obtained the MC/ServiceGuard software from HP. But I am yet to get the requisite manuals. Can some help me with the installation steps?

I have the following files:-
MCServiceGuard-11.00-SEP03sw.depot  MCServiceGuard-11.23-SEP03sw.depot
MCServiceGuard-11.11-SEP03sw.depot

I tried installing using swinstall, but it failed saying that the depot files did not exist. Please find the details below.

Really sorry if they look clumsy.
==============================================
# /usr/sbin/swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x match_target=true  -s /tmp/MCSer
Guard-11.00-SEP03sw.depot

=======  06/18/03 19:36:06 IST  BEGIN swinstall SESSION
(non-interactive) (jobid=INHYL1H3-0037)

* Session started for user "root@INHYL1H3".

* Beginning Selection
* Target connection succeeded for "INHYL1H3:/".
* Source:
/tmp/MCServiceGuard-11.00-SEP03sw.depot
* Targets:                INHYL1H3:/
* Software selections:
+ B7609BA,r=A.03.20,a=HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64,v=HP
EMS-Core.EMS-CORE,l=/,r=A.03.20,a=HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64,v=HP,fr=A
20,fa=HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64
* A "+" indicates an automatic selection due to dependency or
the automatic selection of a patch or reference bundle.
* Selection succeeded.

* Beginning Analysis and Execution
* Session selections have been saved in the file
"/usrhome1/adroot/.sw/sessions/swinstall.last".
ERROR: "INHYL1H3:/": 1 filesets have a version with a higher
revision number already installed.
* "INHYL1H3:/": 1 bundles cannot be installed because none of
their filesets can be installed.
* The analysis phase failed for "INHYL1H3:/".
* Analysis and Execution had errors.

NOTE: More information may be found in the agent logfile using the
command "swjob -a log INHYL1H3-0037 @ INHYL1H3:/".

=======  06/18/03 19:36:09 IST  END swinstall SESSION (non-interactive)
(jobid=INHYL1H3-0037)
==============================================

Hi Subramanian,

Do

swlist -l product |grep -i serviceguard

and note the version.

Then do

swlist -l product @/tmp/MCSer
Guard-11.00-SEP03sw.depot

and note the version there too.

Looks like you have a better version than what you downloaded.

-Sri
